I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a unique blend of medical and psychological expertise. I’m so glad you’ve taken this step towards exploring counselling, and I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey to wellness.

My path to becoming a counsellor has been a rich and diverse one. Originally trained as a family doctor in Iran, I later pursued my passion for mental health by earning a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology here in Canada. This dual background allows me to see you as a whole person—a bio-psycho-social framework. I believe that understanding the full picture of your experiences is crucial to finding the right path forward for you. For the last five years of my work experiences in Iran, I have worked as a family doctor focusing on supporting individuals dealing with moderate mental health issues. This experience has deepened my commitment to helping others on their journey to wellness.

With over two decades of experience in healthcare and counselling, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through a wide range of challenges. Currently, I work at the Salal Sexual Violence Support Center, where I specialize in helping clients navigate the complex terrain of sexual assault trauma, sexual functioning issues, and PTSD. I want you to know that many of us face various forms of adversity throughout our lives, which can lead to challenges like depression, anxiety, difficulties in relationships, workplace stress, or issues with substance use. I’m here to listen without judgment and support you in finding your path forward. When we work together, you’ll find that I take a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. What does this mean for you? It means that I see you as the expert on your own life. My role is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, tap into your inner wisdom, and discover your own path to healing.

I invite you to stand beside me on the foundations of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) because I believe in the individual wisdom and knowledge that each person brings to their healing journey. I also blend insights from various therapeutic modalities, including Somatic Therapy, Psychoanalysis, and a psychodynamic approach that incorporates inner child work. I believe that understanding the relationship between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is essential for the healing process. This holistic perspective allows me to tailor our work to your unique needs and preferences. Whether you find comfort in talk therapy, benefit from body-based approaches, or need a combination of techniques, we’ll discover what works best for you together.

As a bilingual counsellor fluent in English and Farsi, I’m committed to providing culturally sensitive care. I understand that our cultural backgrounds shape our experiences and perspectives, and I strive to create a space where you can feel fully seen and understood.

When I’m not in the counselling room, you’ll find me at home in North Vancouver, surrounded by my loving family and two mischievous cats. I’m an avid reader and movie enthusiast, and I love to express my creative side through writing short stories. I’m also passionate about facilitating support groups and workshops for women and specific communities, as I believe in the power of shared experiences to foster healing and growth.

If you’re considering counselling, I want you to know that taking this step is an act of courage and self-care. Whether you’re dealing with a specific issue or simply seeking personal growth, I’m here to support you. Together, we can work towards creating the life you envision for yourself – one of authenticity, resilience, and fulfillment.

I look forward to the possibility of working with you and being a part of your journey towards healing and self-discovery. Remember, you don’t have to walk this path alone. Let’s take those first steps together.
