I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), and one of the most meaningful parts of my life has been spending more than 10 years working alongside children, adolescents, and their families. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing many small but powerful moments — a child learning to manage their anxiety, another finding their footing after a family separation, or a young person slowly becoming more confident in who they are. Those moments are a big part of why I continue to love this work.
Throughout these years, I’ve supported children and adolescents with anxiety, emotional dysregulation, depression, obsessive-compulsive difficulties, autism, behavioural challenges, low self-esteem, and major life transitions. I always try to look beyond the symptom and understand the child behind it.
My Master’s in Psychology of Family Therapy, together with my graduate studies in Early Childhood Education at UBC, allows me to bring psychology, family relationships, and child development together in my work. I also draw from training in Play Therapy and child-centred approaches, as well as EFT and CBT, adapting therapy to each child’s age, personality, strengths, and needs.
Play Therapy is at the heart of my work with children, because they often show us what they feel before they can put it into words. Through stories, drawings, characters, and games, I help children understand their emotions, discover their strengths, and build skills they can carry with them as they grow — into school, relationships, work, and adult life. Parents are an important part of this process too. I work closely with families so that the understanding and skills we build in therapy can continue at home and in everyday life.
I offer in-person counselling sessions in Downtown Vancouver in both English and Farsi. I’d be so happy to be part of this journey with you and your child, and to welcome you into a space where your child can feel safe, understood, and free to grow into who they are. If this feels like the kind of support you’re looking for, you’re welcome to reach out or book a session.
