People who work with me in therapy are often struggling to find a sense of true relaxation or safety in their lives and often struggle to process things that have happened to them in the past. It can be difficult to figure out how to begin to explore vulnerable topics with someone else, but rest assured that you do not have to do that work alone. I can offer a space for you to begin to feel grounded and like yourself again.
Healing happens most effectively when you feel understood, moving at a pace that feels right for you. In sessions with me, your stories, emotions, and inner experiences will be met with care and curiosity. My goal is to help you reconnect with your own sense of strength and to feel empowered in who you are.
My work primarily includes Somatic and EMDR therapy, and I draw from IFS and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well. I work from an anti-oppression framework, and a large part of my approach includes helping the body relearn what safety feels like. Somatic and body-based therapies support you in noticing physical cues that show up during stress or old patterns, and gently guide the body toward understanding that the danger has passed and those old protections are no longer needed.
If you are wondering whether we might be a good fit, I offer a free fifteen-minute consultation call where you can ask any questions you might have and you can get a feel for what working together might feel like. I am excited to meet you.
