Meet Khushi

Hello, my name is Khushi (she/her)!

I am honoured to be an intern counsellor with Lotus as I finish my Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University! After getting my Bachelor of Science with Specialization in Psychology from the University of Alberta, I have been working as a Behaviour Consultant and Interventionist for individuals on the Autism spectrum. Through this role, I have seamlessly built rapport with clients and their families, taking a collaborative approach to achieving their goals. Alongside this, I volunteer at a sexual assault centre, shaping my trauma-informed and person-centred perspective. Being immersed in the mental health field early on, I have gained experience and comfort in supporting diverse client populations and a range of concerns.

My approach is rooted in empowerment and a deep respect for your unique experiences. I strive to create a welcoming and validating atmosphere where clients can explore their emotions and challenges without judgment. As a woman of colour, I hold a culturally sensitive and intersectional lens, honouring the values and experiences that shape you. My goal is to help clients gain awareness and insight into their thoughts, behaviours and feelings to begin the process of healing and improve overall quality of life. To do this, I draw from various therapeutic orientations to create an individualized approach catered to each client’s needs, strengths and areas of concern.

We all have an immense potential for healing and growth. Whether it is life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and the relationship with others or yourself, it would be a privilege to support you through your journey!
