Meet Chantale

Hi, my name is Chantale (she/her)

My professional background is grounded in a functional, holistic, medical model, where I worked for 15 years as a Respiratory Therapist in critical care and trauma medicine, with infants, youth, and adults, at Vancouver General Hospital and BC Children’s Hospital. I have been privileged in this work to be part of many intimately challenging moments in people’s lives, from giving birth to dealing with and experiencing acute and chronic illness, to the end of life. This experience offers me a unique and deep lens on the complexity of mental and physical health, attachment, and relationships, and how they are all interconnected.

My therapeutic style is integrative and holistic, where I work within an evidence-based, approachable, relational and neuroscience model. I believe strongly that safety in the therapeutic relationship is foundational to your success, and I will ensure you feel safe and validated in your expression.

We can explore how you want to feel in your life and find a pathway towards your optimal self, healing from challenging life experiences, and discovering ways for you to feel confident in your relationships. I work with evidence-based techniques to meet your unique needs, adopting a person-centred, self-compassionate, relational, and somatic approach. I can support you in addressing life trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-harm, motivation, stress, dissociation, bipolar and personality disorders, and ADHD.

I pull techniques from Cognitive Behavioural, Acceptance and Commitment, Narrative, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal, Somatic Experiencing, Gottman, and Emotion-focused therapies.

I have a strong interest in working with front-line healthcare providers and public-serving professionals, stemming from my previous career in healthcare. I understand the complexity of experiences within these professions, how they impact our sense of self, others, and the world, and how these experiences shape our work and personal lives.

I grew up on Vancouver Island and settled in North Vancouver for my career and family. I am a mom, sister, and friend. I sing in a choir, and I love to do anything on or near the ocean.

I invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation to see how I can best support you or to book a session to begin our work together.
